Cash-out values are Telegram’s own withdrawal rate and assume 1,000 or more earned Stars. Converting the TON payout into local currency costs whatever your exchange charges, which is not modelled here.

FAQ
Telegram Stars, answered
How much is 1 Telegram Star worth?
One Star has two prices, and both are set by Telegram. Buying costs $0.0141 per Star on the web, Fragment or desktop, based on Telegram's stars_usd_sell_rate_x1000 config value of 1410, or $14.10 per 1,000. Inside the iOS and Android apps it is about $0.0201, because Apple and Google take up to 30%. Cashing out is different: Telegram pays $0.013 per Star, from stars_usd_withdraw_rate_x1000 = 1300, settled in TON through Fragment.
How much is 1,000 Telegram Stars in dollars?
1,000 Stars costs $14.10 to buy on the web and about $20.14 in the mobile apps. If you earned those 1,000 Stars, Telegram pays $13.00 to withdraw them. These are the exact figures Telegram publishes as its sell and withdraw rates. 1,000 is also the minimum balance before a withdrawal can start.
Are Telegram Stars pegged to TON?
No. This is the most common misunderstanding. Telegram prices Stars in US dollars and settles withdrawals in TON at the TON price on the day of the payout. The dollar value of your Stars does not move when TON moves, but the number of TON you receive does, and so does the local-currency value of that TON once you sell it.
Why is the cash-out value lower than the price I paid?
Because Telegram sells Stars at $0.0141 and buys them back at $0.013, creating a gap between its own sell and withdraw rates. About 92% of a web purchase price survives a round trip. Buy in the mobile apps instead and you keep roughly 65%, because the store commission was spent before you started.
Can I convert Stars I bought back into money?
No. Only earned Stars can be withdrawn, meaning Stars received as gifts, tips, subscription payments, bot payments or mini app sales. Stars you bought for yourself can be spent inside Telegram, but they cannot be sent back out. Any service offering to buy your purchased Stars is not using an official route.
How long does a Stars withdrawal take?
Telegram does not publish a holding period, but creators consistently report a cooling-off window of around 21 days against refunds and chargebacks before earned Stars become withdrawable. After that the Fragment payout lands in your TON wallet in minutes. Selling that TON for local currency adds whatever your exchange or P2P desk needs, usually the same day.
Where do StarsConverter's rates come from?
Straight from Telegram's client configuration, documented at core.telegram.org: stars_usd_sell_rate_x1000 (1410, so $14.10 per 1,000 Stars to buy) and stars_usd_withdraw_rate_x1000 (1300, so $13.00 per 1,000 to withdraw). The in-app price adds the app stores' 30% commission to Telegram's sell rate. Local currency values use mid-market exchange rates refreshed every six hours, and your bank or exchange will apply its own spread on top.
